Thank you for visiting my new website of landscape and still life paintings.

I’m primarily a picture book illustrator, and not so long ago discovered I really enjoyed landscape painting as a meditative change from illustration. It came as a surprise to me but when I think about it, I’d been looking at scenes and feeling a strong impulse to attempt to paint them for quite a while. And my mother is a painter, as was her father, so really it isn’t surprising at all.

Painting became a rather lovely Sunday morning hobby. But then I decided I wanted to get better at it. So, with advice from my mum, I’ve been learning more about colour, balancing compositions and using darks and stronger colour effectively.

And now the results of this little midlife adventure are available here for sale!
